Del Norte County
Prescribed Burn Association

A Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) in Del Norte County is all about locals working together to bring back good fire for healthier forests and safer communities. By teaming up, neighbors and landowners can use controlled burns to clear out the overgrown brush and dead stuff that fuels wildfires. It’s a hands-on way to manage the land, protect homes, and bring back the natural balance that fire once kept. With the PBA, we're taking charge of our own backyards, making our forests stronger and our communities more fire-wise, the way it ought to be.

The Del Norte Fire Safe Council is here to back the formation of a Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) by providing the structure, guidance, and resources needed to get things rolling. From helping with the paperwork and organizing training sessions to lending a hand with burn plans, the Council's got the community's back. We’ll work closely with local fire departments to ensure everything’s done safely and by the book, sharing equipment, tools, and know-how. Whether it's drip torches, safety gear, or just plain old advice, the Del Norte Fire Safe Council is committed to making sure the PBA has what it needs to put good fire to work for the benefit of our forests and our neighbors.
